Jay Vinson

“We always want to leave people in a better place than we find them.”
One of 15 children, Jay’s mother dropped out of school in eighth grade to pick vegetables and help provide for her family. His father began working at nine years old, folding towels in a laundromat. They instilled their strong work ethic in their children, along with the sense that Jay and his brothers could accomplish anything they wanted if they worked for it. For over 20 years, Jay has used his parents' teachings to help build his firm, dedicating his career to helping people achieve their financial goals and pursue their desired lifestyles.
Jay got his start in the industry in 1997, and since then, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and insight he uses to help empower clients to make better decisions for themselves and their families.
“Life is nothing more than a series of decisions we make, and there are consequences for every decision,” Jay says. “I like solving problems and helping people make better decisions because if they make a bad one, it affects them and their family. A community is nothing more than a collection of families. Communities get destroyed by bad decisions at every level, and we want to right that wrong.”
By creating and managing financial strategies throughout every stage of the planning process, Jay helps guide people toward their dream retirement. By listening and developing a deep understanding of his clients’ needs and goals, he can create custom, easy-to-understand strategies to even the most complex problems.
“We treat our clients like family,” Jay says. "We value relationships and want to develop strong relationships built on trust, honesty and transparency. Our clients are like family, and we love to serve them like family.”
Jay is a Financial Advisor who can offer investment advisory services. He is also a licensed Insurance professional that can offer insurance products and services. He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and finance.
Jay and his wife, Jeanie, have two daughters, Alexandria and Olivia. When not helping clients, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, trail running, continuing his pursuit of knowledge and serving his church.
Steve Tepfenhart

Steve is committed to his clients’ well-being, and his personal mission is to help them feel more confident in their finances so they can enjoy a comfortable retirement.
After working in the financial services industry for over 16 years, Steve joined Vinson Financial Group in 2021, where he focuses on helping empower clients to achieve their financial goals regardless of their situation. Steve is dedicated to serving clients by helping them access the financial education, resources and tools they need to make more informed decisions.
Steve graduated from Midwestern Baptist College with a degree in education. He and his wife, Kirbie, have three children: Hayden, Evan and Camryn.
Away from the office, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, camping, hiking and serving in their church.
